The Gallery Players will perform this Neil Simon play about a popular singer who has gone to pot with too much booze and sex. We meet Evy Meara (the singer) returning to her New York apartment after a ten-week drying out period. Her friend Toby Landau, her daughter Polly Meara, and an actor friend Jimmy Perry try to help her adjust to sobriety, but all three have the opposite effect on her. Tickets for the show are $10 at the door, $9 in advance for adults; $9 at the door and $8 in advance for students.
The Virginia Opera
Combining art and education, The Virginia Opera will perform I Hear America Singing for area middle school students. The play is about American history from the country's beginning to the landing on the moon.
