Friends of the Gallery Fund Drive 2004
Another year has arrived and with it another "Friends of the Gallery Fund Drive." It is only through the faithful support of our Friends that The Gallery Theatre, Inc. has been able to continue promoting the advancement of music, arts, crafts, and living theatre to Roanoke-Chowan residents. In order for the Theatre to remain an integral entity in the community, your help is needed in supporting this year's fund drive.
Funds from the 2003 drive helped to maintain the building, but, more importantly, they allowed the Theatre to produce the 2003 season's productions of Always Patsy Cline, Over the River and Through the Woods, and the children's version of The Granny Awards and Guys and Dolls, and Seeing Stars in Dixie. Also, the funds allowed the Theatre to present cultural enrichment opportunities to area elementary, middle, and high school students by sponsoring professional troupes, such as The Tarradiddle Players and the Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
As with any organization, profit and non-profit alike, there are things that need to be done and renovations and improvements that need to be done. Plans for the 2004 "Friends of the Gallery Fund Drive" include making repairs and renovations as needed and providing cultural enrichment opportunities to area elementary, middle, and high school student by continuing to sponsor professional troupes. In April 2004, the Virginia Opera will present I Hear America Singing, a play chronicling American history from its beginnings to the moon landing.
Members of the "Friends of the Gallery Fund Drive" receive a copy of all Gallery newsletters and their name listed in the season's playbill/program. Contributors of $100 or more appear on the Donor Board in the lower lobby of the theatre. Most importantly, Gallery Friends will have the satisfaction of keeping a valuable educational establishment in their community.
